かつて、大曽根で庄屋を勤めた旧山田家住宅を1992年に移築。 江戸末期～明治初期築と伝わる。木造2階建て、切妻造、桟瓦葺、平入の町家建築である。土間にはケヤキの大黒柱、2尺1寸の大梁など大材を用い豪壮な空間となっている。 1.2階の座敷は室ごとに異なる意匠で非常に丁寧に造られ、趣向を凝らしている。 規模が大きく材も豪壮な本建物は近代名古屋の大規模な町屋建築として登録文化財に登録。

The former Yamada family residence, where the head of the village once served in Ozone, was relocated here in 1992. It is said to have been built between the late Edo period and the early Meiji period. It is a two-story, wooden townhouse with a gabled roof, tile roofing, and a front entrance aligned with the street. The earthen-floored area features large timbers, such as a zelkova pillar and a main beam measuring 2 shaku 1 sun, creating a grand and imposing space. The formal rooms on the first and second floors are meticulously crafted, each with its own unique design and thoughtful details. Due to its large scale and the grandeur of its materials, this building has been designated a Registered Cultural Property as a large-scale townhouse from modern-era Nagoya.
